Ah, the lovely Miss Dixon - she's the original garage girl-next-door gone good.
With all the recent fuss in the tabs about Alesha's upcoming stint as a judge on telly's mega-popular Strictly Come Prancing (replacing acid-tongued windbag Arlene Phillips), you could be excused for thinking that she's famous for her sizzling moves alone.
Not so. Alesha's practically an old granny in pop terms, having been on the scene since 1999. She was the coolest chick in R&B garage girlies Mis-Teeq (well, what's not to like about a fabulous feisty singer who MC-d with the ferocity of a rottweiler while still looking cute?) The gals whipped out a bevvy of rough and ready R&B floor-fillers back in the day with singles such as One Night Stand, Scandalous and Style, but split in 2005.
Alas, the road to pop success-dom is not always paved with gold and Alesha's first solo single flopped, leading her nasty record label to drop her. Boo! Then along came her incredible winning turn on Strictly and everyone loved her again. Hooray! Latest album, 2008's The Alesha Show, has already notched up two top five singles with The Boy Done Nothing and Breath Slow.
If Cheryl Tweedy's stint on X Factor is anything to go by, being a telly judge will do nothing but propel 'Lesha to the tippity-top of her profession. Which would be just what the girl deserves.
