Those hoping for some new music from Lady Gaga might not have too long to wait.

The 24-year-old New Yorker told Rolling Stone magazine that she recently completed work on the follow-up to The Fame Monster and will announce the album's title on New Year's Eve.

She said: "I think I'm gonna get the album title tattooed on me and put out the photo. I've been working on it for months now, and I feel very strongly that it's finished right now. It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don't. I write music every day."

She also revealed that the album will have a different tone to her previous work, saying: "The message of the new music is now more bitter than it was before. Because the sweeter the cake, the more bitter the jelly can be."

As well as working hard in the studio, Gaga has also been keeping up her hectic touring schedule, with the next leg of her Monster Ball tour due to kick off in Montreal on June 28th.
