If you're loving Marina's new single Hollywood and want to know a bit more about her, then you've come to the right place. Here's our ten essential facts about Marina And The Diamonds:
Marina And The Diamonds might sound like a band but really it's just 24-year-old singer-songwriter Marina Diamandis.
While she's been hailed as one of 2010's 'Ones To Watch', Marina herself isn't bothered about being credible, saying "I really couldn't give a damn whether pop's in fashion this week or not, I'd still be writing the same music, regardless." You go girl!
Marina is 50% Greek and 50% Welsh.
She once auditioned for a part in the West End stage production of The Lion King. Unfortunately she didn't get the part.
She's been described as having a voice which 'both lures sailors to shores and wards ships from rocks.' We're not sure what the means but it sounds good!
Her single Hollywood was written about Marina's fixation with America. "I came of age as Britney did," she recalls. "It was an amazing time to fall in love with pop. She was my favourite. But I guess it was a time that leaves you with a lot of questions about pop culture for female artists."
Marina came second in the BBC's prestigious Sound Of 2010 poll, losing out to Ellie Goulding.
She's a self-taught pianist.
Hollywood was produced by Biff Stannard, most famous for his work with the Spice Girls.
Both Perez Hilton and Kanye West are fans and have featured some of Marina's videos on their respective blogs.
If you haven't seen it yet, here's the amazing video for Hollywood, which Marina has described as her 'living out her fantasies'...
Marina And The Diamonds' new single, Hollywood, is out now and will be followed by her debut album The Family Jewels on February 22nd.
