New 'Godfather of Grime', Tinchy Stryder (dont worry, well explain the name later), is a fairly new kid on the block. But be warned, the boisterous MC plans to take over the world with his blend of reggae pop singy-rapping.

Now, back to that name. It was derived from the video game, Strider, that he grew up playing, and from a nickname his friends called him because he's only a titchy 5'5". No wonder he sounds a little bit grumpy in his songs.

While fellow grimester Dizzee Rascals collaborating with Lily Allen and the Arctic Monkeys to keep up the mainstream interest, and Wiley is retiring - the need for a new grime ally to march the movement forward is essential. Tinchy is stepping up to the challenge.

Honing his yelping rap stylee from the age of 13 on pirate radio sets in East London, he eventually released his debut album Star In The Hood in 2006 to an appreciative audience. Recently, hes hit the big time with two consecutive number 1s for, um, Number 1 (a collaboration with touring mates N-Dubz) and Never Leave You, featuring Amelle from the Sugababes.

Bet those mates wished theyd stayed on the right side of him now, eh?
