She's a singer, actress and er... former magician's assistant, check out our ten essential facts about the hugely talented Paloma Faith:
- Paloma apparently means 'dove' in Spanish.
- As well as her musical success, Paloma has also appeared in the movies St. Trinian's and The Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus.
- Paloma's live shows have a reputation for being a bit bonkers. Speaking to the Independent she explained, "Well, I wouldn't want anyone to be bored!" Quite.
- She briefly shared a manager with Amy Winehouse. Amy was apparently so impressed with her style that she wanted Paloma to join her band.
- Her previous jobs include working as an assistant in Agent Provocateur and appearing as a 'live ghost' on a ghost train. They say the truth is stranger than fiction...
- Her debut album was called Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful and it's a rather fabulous record.
- Paloma cites the likes of Etta James, Billie Holiday, David Lynch and Tim Burton as being her greatest influences.
- When asked by Digital Spy what the difference between her and other artists around at the moment was, she replied, 'I think I read a lot more than most other artists... That's why I don't have to repeat my choruses seven times though, because I've got more ideas.' Miaow!
- Far from being just a pretty face, Paloma has an MA in theatre direction from St. Martin's College in London.
- We'll allow the lady herself to have the final word. She wrote on Twitter, "Just to clarify to all. I am not mad! I am just very open and I like to use my imagination!" Well, who are we to argue?
