The girl-kissing, gospel singer-turned global pop megastar frequently sets tongues wagging with her provocative outfits, eye-popping videos and, of course, her high profile divorce from Russell Brand. Luckily, however, she's also got the music to justify the hype.
Her second album Teenage Dream has cemented Katy's status as a pop heavyweight. She equalled Michael Jackson's record of six consecutive No 1 singles from one album, with massive hits like Firework and California Gurls. The album's re-release saw the single Part of Me top the charts in both the UK and the US.
Though Katy's split from her husband had the tabloids salivating, Katy has remained schtum on the subject and let the music do the talking. With a 3D concert movie in the works and a third album in the early stages, there's no stopping Ms. Perry!
