Pink in her Raise Your Glass video

Born with the demure name of Alicia Beth Moore, who knew she would grow up to be one of the world’s most feisty females with her provocative lyrics, aggro-tastic attitude and powder-keg pop songs that pack a mean punch. She’s even scarier than the Sugababes, and that’s saying something.

First album Can’t Take Me Home, released in 2000, made the pastel princess an instant chart success with singles There You Go and You Make Me Sick. Pink wasn’t pleased with the RNB-influenced sound though, and her next record was more pure unadulterated pop. Let’s Get The Party Started, Don’t Let Me Get Me and Just Like A Pill, from 2001’s Mizzundaztood, were all big hitters and the album went platinum.

Three albums, and some celeb-baiting (Stupid Girls) and racy references to self-pleasure (U + Ur Hand) later and Pink is back, and still angry as ever. Splitting from her hubby hasn’t helped, as seen in her last big single So What.

Still, we want our pop ladies loud, don’t we? Just don’t rub her up the wrong way.

Her latest album - a greatest hits effort - spawned hits Raise a Glass and Perfect.
