50 Cent

The bullet-proof rapper who is worth more than a few cents

Thu 1 Dec 2011

He might be called Curtis James Jackson III but he's 50 Cent to you and me.

The In Da Club rapper swapped a life of crime for a career in rap, but not before being famously shot nine times. Bearing the scars, two years later 50 Cent signed a multi-million pound record through Eminem and went on to release Get Rich or Die Tryin'. The album has since been certified eight times platinum.

Since then, 50 Cent has had numerous hits and collaborated with artists such as Nicole Scherzinger, Snoop Dogg and Justin Timberlake. Billboard Magazine declared him the No.1 rap artist of the last decade.

50's career has not been without trouble,  having a number of high-profile feuds with the likes of Jay-Z, Dr. Dre and Wyclef Jean. Most recently, 50 Cent fell out with his record label Interscope, leading to the delay of his anticipated fifth album Black Magic. Recorded and ready to release, we hope 50 Cent kisses and makes up very soon so we can hear it!
