Alexandra Burke's musical ambitions started young. She began singing at age five and by 12, she was the youngest contest on TV talent search show Star For a Night. Her big break didn't come until 2008, however, when she won the fifth series of The X Factor and officially started her record-breaking career.
Her debut single, a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, sold 105,000 copies in one day, making her the European record holder for single sales in a 24-hour period. Just months later, she became the first female to sell over a million copies of a single in the UK.
She released her debut album Overcome in 2009, which entered the UK Albums Chart in first place. The album gave Alexandra five top-10 hits, including Bad Boys, Start Without You, and All Night Long.
And if that wasn't enough, she also became the first X Factor contestant to take a turn as a judge, serving on the panel of So You Think You Can Dance.
The stunning singer will be gracing fans with a brand new album in 2011.
