Meet the latest Bajan exports

Hailing from Barbados, and following in the footsteps of fellow Bajan, Rihanna, Manda, T-Ray, Bar-Man and Jamar aka Cover Drive have added a bit of colour to the music scene.

Swapped the Caribbean sunshine for the mean streets of London since being signed, the band's sound blends traditional Bajan sounds with pop hooks, sitting somewhere between the beach and the dancefloor. The band likes to refer to it as "sunshine-y, feel-good music."

Cover Drive were discovered in 2010 after posting videos on YouTube. Dubbed The Fedora Sessions and filmed in T-Ray's basement, their funky, Caribbean-flavoured re-workings of Hey Soul Sister, B.o.B.'s Airplanes and Ke$ha's Tik Tok saw record labels fight to sign them.

Between recording sessions for the album, the quartet continued to post their Cari-pop covers online, reworking the likes of Ellie Goulding's Starry Eyed,Katy Perry's California Girls, Jessie J's Price Tag, and J-Lo's I'm In To You.

Their debut single Lick Ya Down was released in the summer of 2011 and made the UK Top 10. Their second single, Twilight, hit the top spot in the UK singles charts in January 2012. Well done guys!

Now we're just awaiting the bands debut album, Bajan Style, which they've described as "a beach party in Barbados" and is due out in 2012.
