Rizzle Kicks

We're down with this Brighton duo

Fri 9 Sep 2011

Jordan Stevens and Harley Alexander-Sule are Brighton rappers Rizzle Kicks. They’re also way-back childhood chums and fellow students from the unofficial pop factory that is, The BRIT School. You know, the one that Adele, Jessie J, Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis all spent their spotty teenage years running about in.

Glee-style (or so we like to imagine) teenage years in the bag then, the boys finally managed to blag their way into a real life studio and put out their debut track Prophet (Better Watch It) back in May 2011. Their cheeky boyish charm and bold collection of hats has quickly infected the nation and the charts… no more so than when they hooked up with the ultimate cheeky chappy Olly Murs this summer, to record No.1 single Heart Skips A Beat.

Since then, the boys have gone on to release their infectious hits, Down With The Trumpets, Mama Do The Hump and Travellers Chant.

So, while Brighton’s most exciting recent export finishes up work on their debut album (after which they’ve promised us a tour – hoorayz!), we’re making do with listening to their latest top ten chart effort on permanent repeat. Its official boys and girls… there’s never been a better time to get down with your trumpets.
