All the behind-the-scenes goss
There are a few special moments in the world of 4music.com: when we get to post topless pictures of Ryan Gosling, hanging out with our idols, and, of course, the biggest UK music event of the year (aside from T4 on the Beach and T4 Stars) ... the BRITs!! The glitz, the glam, the backstage hoopla - we love it all! And we've bravely volunteered to camp out backstage to bring you the latest news. Check back often for the skinny on everything BRITs.
Blur close things off with a spirited performance of their 90s hits Girls & Boys, Song 2, and more. The crowd is loving it!
George Michael has had a rough year fighting off a terrible bought of pneumonia, but he looked fit as a fiddle as he presented the award for British Album of the Year. And the winner is... Adele - 21. She gave an emotional thanks to her fans before being kicked off the stage by James Corden. Live TV waits for nobody, people!
The über cool Blur give one of the longest acceptance speeches of the evening after receiving their Outstanding Contribution award. We reckon they deserve their moment.
That Lana Del Rey gets a lot of slack but she sure can humbly accept an award, can't she? She's just won International Breakthrough. What a cutie. Rihanna has just taken to the stage and the entire O2 has gone stark raving MAD! What a performance!
The Foo Fighters take Best International Group! A beautiful Nicole Scherzinger helps to present Best British Breakthrough Artist. Ed Sheeran swoops in and takes his second award of the night! Backstage is buzzing... who will win British Album of the Year???
In probably the most anticipated performance of the evening, Adele floored the audience with a stirring rendition of Rolling In The Deep. Her vocal chords may have been through the ringer this year, but she's back in full force. You couldn't see it, but she got herself a standing ovation!
James Corden stopped for a little chat with the lovely Kylie Minogue, who is celebrating her 25th anniversary in music this year. When quizzed on what artist tonight has the best chance of achieving her career longevity, she said: "If I had to chose someone today, I'd say Adele." After achieving the highest-selling album of the 21st century with 21, we'd say that's a safe bet.
Coldplay claimed the award for best British Group. This is their seventh BRIT and the third time they've won in this particular category.
Plan B presents the award for British Male Solo Artist to Ed Sheeran, for his first win of the evening. "I honestly didn't think I would get this award," he said, before thanking his fans and supporters.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is giving the next performance, with Coldplay's Chris Martin sitting in on the keyboards. Nice team work, gentlemen!
Jenson Button presented the award for International Female to Rihanna. She took to the stage with a message of thanks for her fans: "At times when I feel misunderstood, my fans remind me that it's always okay to be myself."
Tinie Tempah just presented British Single to the lovely boys of One Direction for their first No 1 single, What Makes You Beautiful. Niall just jumped about three feet into the air, he was so excited. Congrats, boys!
Our homeboy Ed Sheeran just gave a spot-on acoustic performance of Lego House. No sign of Rupert Grint.
Olly Murs and Rizzle Kicks are tearing it up on stage as they perform their massive hit, Heart Skips a Beat, while surrounded by a sea of beautiful back-up dancers dressed in red. Olly is sporting a black leisure suit with a white handkerchief in the breast pocket (classy), while the Rizzle Kicks boys are dressed down in street wear.
Jessie J - completely unfazed by her loss to Adele in the British Female Solo Artist category - and Jack Whitehall just hit the stage to present the award for International Male Solo Artist to Bruno Mars. "The Fans... I love you. I'll be back soon with a second album" he told the audience.
Time for the first award of the evening. Kylie Minogue, sparkling in a royal blue dress, presented the award for British Female Solo Artist to Adele. "I look like a drag queen next to you," Adele said to Kylie as she accepted her award.
Oh. My. God. Who knew I'd go all fangirl after running into One Direction? The boys were supernice, taking pics with raving fans (how'd they get back here?) and looking incredibly happy to be here. The call has gone out: take your seats!
We're here, we're ready to shine! Close up, please! Oh, wait, the paps are here for the pop stars? How rude! We wore our best glad rags! Ah well, it was worth a try. Lucky for you, we didn't get in the shot, but Adele, Jessie J, Lana Del Rey, Ed Sheeran, Pixie Lott, Kylie Minogue and Caroline Flack have all arrived. We can't wait to see what everyone else is wearing.
