This week at the movies: Mirror Mirror, Titanic 3D and Battleship

Oh my goodness, guys - Titanic is back! I know, right? And speaking of chaos on the open seas, Rihanna is making her big-screen debut in Battleship this weekend. Plus Julia Roberts is back too - remember her? She stars in Mirror, Mirror, a super-camp retelling of Snow White. What a big week in the grand old world of the cinema!

Let's take a closer look at this week's biggest new movies...

Titanic 3D

If you haven't seen Titanic yet, you probably are a lot younger than I am. Either that, or you don't have a heart. If you DO have a heart and you STILL haven't seen Titanic, prepare to have that heart broken IN 3D, as Kate and Leo return to the big screen in this revamped version of the1997 hit. Cue the Celine Dion, 'cause you know it's going to be an emotional evening.

Battleship

As one might expect, there are some pretty big battleships in Battleship. And if that didn't inflate the film's budget enough, they also managed to secure Bajan babe Rihanna in her big-screen debut. Will RiRi's acting skills be up to scratch? Does it even matter? Get a load of those battleships! Oh, and as it's a Sci Fi movie, it wouldn't be complete without some scary looking aliens. Battleship opens Wednesday 11 April

Mirror, Mirror

There seems to be a trend as actresses get older and have children to begin making films their kids would enjoy. It only makes sense. That's exactly what Julia Roberts has done with Mirror, Mirror, a comedic retelling of the Snow White tale which also stars Lily Collins and Nathan Lane. The idea of Julia Roberts playing the evil, narcissistic queen is an entertaining one, and if you're looking for a camp, light-hearted distraction with lots of glitz and theatrics, this may just be your slice of cake (along with a cup of tea!).

Enjoy the show!
