Taylor Swift’s music may have been overshadowed this year
due to Kanye West’s car crash TV, but the Love Story singer can deliver the
goods. At 19, she has already sold over four million albums and is listed as
one of the 100 most powerful celebrities. Now releasing the platinum edition of
her album Fearless, we speak to

I just feel that I am very lucky to have awesome fans out there helping me out and screaming loudly, supporting my music. It’s really wonderful to be welcomed with open arms to another country like this. Honestly, I appreciate it so much. I just write about feelings and love and the fact that that translates across the ocean is really wonderful.

Did you like the Digital Dog dance remix?
That was fun! I love it when they do dance mixes, it makes me happy.
Do you think your success will encourage more young country singers to emerge?
Hopefully. I was inspired by Shania Twain. I was so inspired by her and all that she accomplished. She took her music worldwide too. It was cool to see that example. She took the time to take her music outside the States and that’s something I want to do too. It’s a really a priority for me. I’m fascinated by other parts of the world and it’s been awesome being able to come over here as much as I have.
In the last three years you’ve won over thirty awards. Earlier this month, you won Best Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Awards. Was that the equivalent of winning an Oscar?
That’s the award that I’ve stayed up past my bedtime to watch every year since I was a little kid. The CMA awards are such a big deal for me, as a person, because I would wait up to see who won that award and never in my life did I imagine that it would end up being me this year. It was such an amazing experience.
You’re in the
I’ve done some club shows but I haven’t done the full tour. It’s going to be really exciting as we’ve brought over the dancers and the set and the crew. It’s going to be really, really fun to do all the costume changes. Its been really cool to put together my first headlining tour and have it exactly how I’ve wanted it to be, and to get to bring that to the UK is so exciting!
My favourite song to perform is You’re Not Sorry. We do a mash-up with Justin Timberlake’s What Goes Around Comes Around. I was listening and I heard that it had a similar chord structure. We kind of weaved it in and out of the song and its just so much fun. The dancers come on and it gets really dark.
