Shakira's hips may not lie, but do the rumours?
Britney Spears and Shakira are rumored to be close to doing a duet.
E! News claims a source from the Columbian singer's label has revealed that it is "almost a given," with will.i.am set to produce the unlikely collaboration.
Adding fuel to the rumours is N.E.R.D artist Pharrell Williams, who produced Britney's Femme Fatale album and featured on her 2002 single, Boys. He has said that he has already pitched the idea to Britney's camp.
"I have proposed to Jive Records (Britney's record label) bring the studio to Shakira...and I thought it was a fabulous idea. I want to make it happen." Pharrell added that the duet would be "explosive."
It would not be the first duet in the career for either artist. Shakira famously teamed up with Beyonce for Beautiful Liar, reaching No 1 in the UK and No 3 in the States. She has also collaborated with Pitbull, Lil Wayne and Dizzee Rascal. Britney, on the other hand, joined forces with Rihanna last year on the single S & M.
So, will the two popstars join forces? Or is it just wishful thinking?
