Will the single rise to the top of the charts?
Demi Lovato is a familiar face in the States, having released three successful albums including the No 1 LP Here We Go Again. She's yet to make her mark over here - Demi's highest chart placing is No 33 - but new single Skyscraper may see her reach the title's heady heights.
Skyscraper comes from her third studio album, Unbroken, which is due out in March. An emotional ballad about self-empowerment, Demi has admitted she kept crying when recording the single in 2010 so she re-recorded it last year.
It wasn't only recording the song that Demi found difficult. The music video was shot in the middle of the desert and took longer to film than expected as the singer kept breaking down due to the personal nature of the song.
Still, at least Demi managed to get the song finished. Skyscraper debuted at No 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2011, spending a total of 17 weeks on the chart, and has since gone to be certified gold.
