Katy Perry debuts new single at Grammys

Part of Me features on Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection

Katy Perry has debuted her brand new single at the Grammys.

Part of Me, which will feature on the reissued Teenage Dream album, is a gutsier track than her previous bubblegum pop offerings of late.

The track sings about an ex-partner never getting the best of the singer. Though written in 2010. the lyrics have tellingly been revised since her split with Russell Brand.

The original lyrics included the line: "you can keep the dog from me / I never liked him anyway." This has now been changed to a reference to her wedding band: "Keep your diamond ring / It don't mean nothing anyway / In fact, you can keep everything / Except for me."

Katy's performance at the Grammys saw her ditch the elegant baby blue gown she arrived in, and appear on stage in a gold and silver spandex suit of armour.
