Adele and Ed Sheeran grab two trophies each at the BRIT Awards 2012

Ed Sheeran and Adele were the evening's big winners at the BRIT Awards 2012, grabbing the prize in two categories each. 

Ed Sheeran beat out the likes of James Morisson and Professor Green in the British Male Solo Artist category, and Jessie J and Emeli Sande in British Breakthrough Act. 

Adele was crowned British Female Solo Artist, edging out fellow Brit School graduate Jessie J. She also grabbed the prize for British Album of the Year for her acclaimed 21, which dominated the charts this year and became the biggest selling album of the 21st century.
