Influential hip-hop king Jay-Z has given his support for gay marriage, stating that he believes the issue is holding America back.
In an interview with CNN, the rapper compared the discrimination against same-sex couples as being the same as racism.

Jay-Z said: "I've always thought it as something that's still holding the country back. What people do in their homes is their business. You choose to love whoever you love - that's their business. It's no different than discriminating against blacks."
Jay-Z's comments follows President Obama's announcement that he, too, supports gay marriage.
The rapper said: "I think it's the right thing to do, so whether they cost him votes or not... it's not about votes, it's about people. I think it's the right thing to do as a human being."Rita Ora was "so scared" meeting Jay-Z
