The global contest will take place on YouTube

Simon Cowell has announced his latest venture, The You Generation, for which he'll be swapping television for the internet as his forum.

He’s calling on all people with “outstanding skills” to make videos of themselves showing off their talents.

If there’s anyone out there with a talent that’s “unconventional” and “original”, now’s the chance to showcase it to one of the most influential men in the industry.

The competition will be open to contestants from 26 countries taking in 15 languages. All applicants will need to do is to make a video of themselves or their act and upload it to The You Generation YouTube channel.
