JLS continue to deliver the goods on their latest album
They may have the likes of One Direction and The Wanted snapping up their heels but it's business as usual for JLS, who are unbelievably releasing their third album in as many years.Marvin, Aston, JB and Oritse have been chart regulars since finishing as runners up on the 2008 series of X Factor and, on the strength of Jukebox, that doesn't look likely to change anytime soon.
Adopting the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' approach, the largely self-written album sees the boys unleashing one catchy track after another.
Next single Do You Feel What I Feel pushes the boys' love of sampling bizarre tracks to its limits, reworking Christmas classic Do You Hear What I Hear? as an electro-pop floor-filler. It shouldn't work, but somehow it does.
Teach Me How to Dance is suitably, erm, danceable, while Take You Down's infectious melody will take up residency in your head after just one listen.
Just as their proven dance'n'b formula starts to wear a bit thin, the lads pull a couple of absolute corkers out of the bag. With its dramatic synths and anthemic chorus, Never Gonna Stop is definitely the album's stand-out track, while Shy of the Cool, written when the band was known as UFO, boasts some killer harmonies.
While it would be great to hear the lads experimenting a little more with their sound, Jukebox will no doubt go down a treat with their legions of fans.
