Born with the demure name Alicia Beth Moore, who knew she would grow up to be one of the world’s most feisty females with her provocative lyrics, aggro-tastic attitude and powder-keg pop songs that pack a mean punch. She’s even scarier than Nicki Minaj, and that’s saying something.
First album Can’t Take Me Home, released in 2000, made the pastel princess an instant chart success with singles There You Go and You Make Me Sick. Pink wasn’t pleased with the RNB-influenced sound though, and her next record was more pure unadulterated pop. Let’s Get The Party Started, Don’t Let Me Get Me and Just Like A Pill, from 2001’s Mizzundaztood, were all big hitters and the album went platinum.
Three albums, and some celeb-baiting (Stupid Girls) and racy references to self-pleasure (U + Ur Hand) later, Pink was back in 2008, and was still angry as ever. Splitting from her hubby hadn’t helped, as seen in her big single So What, for which he made an appearance in the video.
Before long, and after some marriage counselling, Pink and her motorcross husband had reconciled their differences and got back together and the star gave birth to their daughter, Willow Sage Hart in 2011.
The singer may have had a bit of a break from the music scene but she has returned valiantly with The Truth About Love. Featuring Blow Me (One Last Kiss) and Try, the singer has returned to her feisty self and has reminded us why we love her so much!
We like our pop ladies loud and proud and Pink is back to her controversial best!
